Stencil - Saint Anthony Basilica Tile
Saint Anthony of Padua was a Portuguese Catholic priest and friar of the Franciscan Order. Born in Lisbon, Portugal, he is celebrated for his life-long devotion to the poor and the sick. After his death he came to be known as a healer of every illness. Many hospitals and churches have been built in his honor across Europe, North America, and South America. This tile pattern was inspired by the window of the Santo Antônio church in Brazil dedicated to the saint.
Catholic history has produced some of the most beautiful and ornate stained-glass windows and this design is part of that heritage.
