Stencil - Charlemagne's Palace Tile

Design Story

The Palace of Aachen was a group of buildings with residential, political and religious purposes chosen by Charlemagne to be the center of power of the Carolingian Empire. The palace was located at the north of the current city of Aachen, today in the German Land of North Rhine-Westphalia, this design is part of that heritage. The walls and pillars are decorated with granite stone and life-sized murals. A similar pattern to this stencil can be found in the palace in the rooms beneath the structures round rotunda.
